Exercept of about half of the first routine of the New Frame created by Chen Fake after he moved to Bejing to teach after being invited from Chen village by his nephew Chen Zhaopi. It is worth mentioning that most of the leading Masters studied the Old Frame [Lao Jia ] routines for a minimum of 10-12 years before studying the New Frame [Xin Jia] routines .The New Frame contains more potential qin-na ,intense and smaller chan si jin and more fa-jin than the Old Frame. Although Chen Fake taught these forms in the later stage of his teaching in Beijing it must be understood that his students already had many years experience of other martial arts and even were masters of other arts . While teh New Frame routines can considerably enhance ones practice they are not absolutely essential to reach higher levels of gong fu. Chen Xiao Xun just practices Old Frame and has reputedly the 4th highest level skill of Taijiquan and of course Chen Changxing and Yang Lu Chan would have just practiced the Old Frame and their level of Gong Fu is legendary in the martial arts world. So it is not important how many forms one knows but rather how deeply one understands the main training form and how hard one practices to reach the highest levels. Many people can "know" the external choreography of many forms but not have much skill after even 20 years because they never had a teacher to show them the way to deepen their practice and they themselves did not practice enough.

Guan Dao [Spring/Autumn Broadsword] The modern guan dao as adopted by martial artists today usually weighs between 2 kg and 10 kg, while it is said that Guan Yu's original guan dao weighed between 50 and 100 kg. During the Qing dynasty some extraordinarily heavy versions of guan dao were made for use in military examinations: a candidate had to be able to wield a weapon weighing 80, 100, or 120 jin (48, 60 or 72 kg) in order to pass. The weight of Guan Yu's weapon was probably mis-estimated based on some of these examples
Double Dao [Sabre ]
Double Sword Form This form was created between 1930-1938 by Chen Zhaopi who is the Master responsible for bringing Tai Chi back to Chen Village[it's place of origin] and without his monumental efforts at training the next generation Tai Chi today would not have such a high level among its top practitioners, Chen Xiao Wang ,Chen Zheng Lei, Wang Xian and Chen Xiao Xun are examples of those most accomplished in the Gong Fu of Taijiquan who studied with the renowned Master Chen Zhaopi.
